EBD Model

Mission

The objective of the Economic and Business Development Model (EBD Model) is to develop a collaborative and replicable bestpractice model to create economic wealth for local communities and to reduce costs and increase competitiveness for participating businesses within those communities.

The Current Situation

Most major US communities have government and business leaders that are actively seeking a way to create wealth and prosperity for their area. What is missing is a strategic national effort to:

- Develop and continuously improve a model based on collaboration across the nation

- Facilitate the identification and integration of best practices, resources & tools

- Develop a replicable model to reduce the costs and time required for other communities to implement a similar program.

Successfully growing local economies and businesses in the 21st century requires municipal and business leaders working together to optimize both local and global opportunities.

In a recent article from the National League of Cities Newsletter, Joe Davis, Sr. Alderman, City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin stated, "Economic prosperity is achieved in livable communities with state-of-the-art infrastructure, international trade and investment, entrepreneurship and a foundational education system that stresses life-long learning.” The mission of the EBD Model is to help US communities achieve this goal.
